Stubbington 2017

Each autumn term the year 6 children are invited to attend a four night residential trip to Stubbington Study Centre. The children take part in a variety of outdoor educational activities where they will learn about the local environment and the animals and plants in the ground. All of the activities are aimed at Key Stage 2 children.  There are many activities that encourage teamwork and they will also develop independence skills as they learn how to be responsible and organise themselves.

The staff at the centre along with the schools year 6 teaching and support staff lead the activities and will be around to supervise the children during meal times and showers. The staff from the school sleep in accommodation next to the children’s sleeping quarters.

Exciting Learning at Stubbington Study Centre September 2017

On Friday 22nd September, Year 6 returned from a wonderful week at Stubbington.

The week was action packed, our activities included: beachcombing and fossil hunting, making small mammal hotels (and studying the lucky visitors), learning to orienteer, watching badgers and foxes at night from the hide and pond dipping. Other activities included team-building challenges such as Earthquake, Eggstreme challenge and shelter building. We also got to know pupils and teachers from Preston Candover Junior School and together completed house challenges and a song contest.

The food was fantastic and the staff made us all very welcome. We all agree that we had an enjoyable and memorable week.
